Join artist Angela Johnson for a hands-on workshop exploring the simple accordion book form. Participants will make a 5″ square accordion journal using watercolor paper — a beautiful, flexible structure that can hold sketches, paintings, notes, poems, memories, or small mixed-media experiments.

The accordion book is one of the simplest and most satisfying handmade book forms. Made from a single folded strip of paper, it opens page by page or stretches out into a sculptural display. It can be read like a traditional book, stood upright on a shelf, or unfolded to reveal a continuous visual story.

This workshop is a great introduction to handmade books and is perfect for artists, writers, journal keepers, and anyone curious about combining paper, image, and story. No experience is necessary — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to fold, create, and explore.
