Blue Bird Box Assembly Tutorial
Join John Starling for a hands-on afternoon dedicated to one of Wisconsin’s most beloved birds — the Eastern Bluebird.
Learn how to assemble and properly place a bluebird nesting box while gaining insight into bluebird conservation and habitat support.
What We’ll Cover:
- Bluebird Basics: Learn about bluebird behavior, nesting needs, migration, and how nesting boxes help support healthy populations.
- Box Construction: All pieces are precut and ready for easy supervised assembly. John will guide participants through the process step-by-step.
- Placement & Success Tips: How high to mount your box, where to place it, seasonal cleaning, and how to improve nesting success.
- The “Real Life” Side: Discussion on predators, sparrow competition, weather exposure, and practical lessons learned from years of use.
The Experience:
Spend a relaxing afternoon building, learning, and connecting with fellow bird and nature enthusiasts.
The Swag:
Participants will leave with a completed bluebird box ready to install at home.
