Build a Home for Wildlife!
Join John Starling for an afternoon of woodworking, wildlife education, and hands-on learning as we build owl nesting boxes designed to support native cavity-nesting owl populations.
Whether you’re a seasoned DIYer or trying your first project, this supervised assembly workshop is designed to be approachable, educational, and fun.

Space is limited to ensure plenty of workspace and individual guidance. Advance registration is encouraged.
What We’ll Cover:
- Owl Habitat Basics: Learn about native owl species, nesting habits, and how properly placed nesting boxes can support healthy wildlife populations.
- Box Construction: All wood pieces are precut and prepared in advance. John will guide participants through the assembly process step-by-step.
- Placement & Maintenance: Tips for installing your owl box, seasonal maintenance, and creating safe nesting environments.
- The “Real Life” Side: Honest discussion about weather exposure, predator protection, mounting challenges, and long-term upkeep.
